Project N.  149323-CU-1-2009-1-IT-CULTURE- VOL 121

2008 year celebrates the 6th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and it is also the year of intercultural dialogue. The Perugia Province together with other transnational public entities and cultural organizations- the Prefectura of Preveza (GR), Athens network Collaborating Experts NGO (GR), the Diputación De Granada, Department of Youth, Culture And Local Cooperation (ES), the Novi Sad Students’ Centre (SR), South Ba?ka District (SR), and with the support at the local level of Tamat NGO, the Umbria Institute for Contemporary History and of the Società dello Spettacolo (associated partners) promotes this project for discussing within the schools and with the widest public themes linked to human rights culture as a tool for intercultural dialogue and to facilitate the comunication among European citizens, by promoting a culture of mutual respect. The history of the twentieth century was characterized by even extreme situations of denial of human rights and important statements of the same through very important Inetrnational Cards. La Storia del Novecento è stata caratterizzata da situazioni anche estreme di negazione dei Diritti umani e da importanti affermazioni dei medesimi attraverso importante Carte Internazionali. A dialectical and difficult play still in progress, which had in the center people, human dignity in its various individual and collective levels. The reflection that is to suggest to students and teachers starts from the history. There are scattered places in Europe that beat of this dialectic, faraway places like Auschwitz, paradigmatic for many minds and places close to us as Colfiorito of Foligno, Viznar in Spain, Kriopigi in Serbia, the streets of Belgrade and Athens. These are places that do not speak for themselves, who need the knowledge of history and attendance not distracted in order to give back traces of dignity denied. By attendig the palaces, with a critical attitude and with a right thought, that are essential skills for any conscious exercise of democracy, the paths starts and continues with the examination of the correspondence between rights and violated rights enshrined in the Charter and with the debate, with the collection of documentary material and its processing through guided creative processes.
